I have been interested in art and design all my life, and from an early age I had a pretty good idea of how I wanted to make a living. In 2003, I graduated with a first class honours degree from The Nottingham Trent University with a Bachelor of Science in Product Design, along with a Certificate In Professional Practice and as Best BSc Student Award Winner.

Along with my qualifications I have several years of freelance and industrial experience, which after receiving my degree provided me with the opportunity to start up my own freelance design business, dpict, with the aim to provide high quality design work at cost effective prices. Initially I was approached to generate graphic artwork for amusement arcade machines on a freelance basis, and since establishing dpict, I have worked for companies in England and Europe, generating designs for websites, graphic artwork and brochures.

I was then given the opportunity to combine the freelance side of design with a more educational approach after being offered the Designer in Residence position at a school in Nottinghamshire. As well as providing me with an office for dpict to run from, the residency consists of me acting as a mentor for young aspiring designers.

I consider myself innovative and assiduous, confidently willing to attempt any type of design project, from the initiation of concepts through to full realisation. I pride myself in attention to detail and my communication and presentation skills.
